She reaches down and pets us...it feels half-hearted. She's going on and on about some box she found on the porch... Thank God she found that before she found the fur ball/puke we left her.
She's opening up the box going on and on about how big it is, how much she was given and so, I (Mulder), jump up on the table and walk in front of her, arching my back and sticking my tail in her face. She spits back some fur at me and pushes me away. HOW RUDE!
Suddenly we hear a POP! The sound of a can opening? Nah, it couldn't be...And then we smell it...turkey and rice. Paper plates are laid out before us on the floor with the most delicious wet kitty food we've ever seen. Surely, she made this? Surely, these are left overs? We do a double take back at her to make sure we won't get scolded for digging into her food...ok, alright..cool. She's standing there watching us. I guess she wants us to eat her left overs. So, we dig in!
It tastes so natural! So delicious! We can't get enough. And we didn't...as quickly as she put it down, it was gone! She made us SHARE a can!
For the next few days we ate like the king and queen we are...each day, a new flavor. Each day, we waited patiently by our food bowls to savor the flavor of what came to be known to us as some guy, Newman and his new organic cat food.
All week, she sang the praises of this guy. Newman this and Newman that. We overheard her telling our neighbor about how she received such a huge box from Newman and that she was grateful to have received coupons as well. I guess my vet bills lately (yeah, me Mulder again) have been huge since I was diagnosed with Kidney Disease. So she was pretty appreciative of the extra food and coupons. She was also grateful that she was actually able to communicate with one of Newman's employees Sally Shepard directly. She was so nice and offered tips and advice about my illness.
